Carol Lackey & Ron-Del Kennels History
My family has been involved with breeding and showing dogs since 1948, when my mother first established our local American Kennel Club (AKC) chapter. At the age of 5, my mother let me enter my first dog in a show. By the time I was a young mother, I had shown three Miniature Schnauzers to their championship titles. It was then that I realized that I wanted to be involved in this sport as a full time endeavor.
As a young mother in the sixties, I started Ron-Del Kennels, named after my children, and began my breeding program with Ch. Ron-Del's Tiny Trinket, my first home-bred champion. She was a doll-faced Yorkie with smaller ears, the type that has become so popular today.
Yorkies are not only true companions, but wonderful friends. One of the most enjoyable parts of my life has been placing my babies into their new families. It's so rewarding to receive those thank-you notes, letters and pictures from the proud new puppy parents. Please keep them coming!
